ASHP Asset Management (ASHPAM) are now installing Hitachi air source heat pumps under the Government’s Assignment of Rights (AoR) Scheme with HIES* member, Air2Energy.
The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Assignment of Rights (AoR) scheme can help homeowners overcome the barrier of the upfront cost of purchasing a renewable heating system, such as an air source heat pump, by introducing the Assignment of Rights. The scheme allows for an ‘Investor’ to help fund the initial cost of installing a renewable heating system. In return, the customer would subsequently assign their Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments to the ‘Investor’.
Their partnership with Air2Energy, who specialise in heat pump installations, means that Air2Energy are now also installing high volumes of Hitachi air source heat pumps free of charge to customers.
Air2Energy will also benefit from receiving 25% of the RHI payments over 7 years, as well as the ongoing supply of the kit, if needed, by ASHPAM.
Martin Smith, CEO of ASHPAM, commented:
“The reason we partnered with HIES is to ensure that we had the right protection in place and would be able to use the right installers. Using accredited members of HIES consumer protection scheme to execute our vision is the safety net we need. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Air2Energy as they are producing quality work and seeing good business growth, it’s a win-win for everyone involved. We hope more installers see this success and want to partner with us. The more accredited installers we can work with, the more installations we can do to give customers air source heat pumps free of charge.”
Ciarán Harkin, Managing Director of HIES, commented:
“It’s great to see ASHPAM already making a difference in the marketplace since receiving Ofgem approval. We partnered with them knowing that they were passionate about consumer protection and wanting to help customers by delivering a cheaper, natural source of energy. It’s clear to see they are already making an impact by partnering up with HIES members and we are excited to watch their journey continue.”
Shaun Gill, Director of Air2Energy, commented:
“This is a really exciting time for Air2Energy to be at the beginning of this ground-breaking project. To have the support of ASHPAM and backing of HIES gives us such strength in the market to go and make a real difference to our customers. Customer feedback is already strong which drives us to deliver the quality of work that we are known for.
“We have recently built a relationship with Conscious Energy Ltd, an energy consultancy, to add further strength to our project. Conscious Energy will be working on securing a relationship with an energy provider. We want to make sure customers know they are with an energy provider that recognises their step into a more renewable future, by giving them a competitive energy tariff that reflects their efforts.”
Neil Dobson, Director of Conscious Energy, commented:
“We see the potential in this project which is why we have partnered with ASHPAM and Air2Energy. We want to support customers in securing exclusive rates following the installation of their renewable energy source. The reaction within the energy market has been incredible and we are close to having an exclusive energy provider to join us on this journey.”
ASPHAM is looking to expand its network with experienced, reputable installers who have the capacity, infrastructure and ambition to install ‘high’ volumes of air source heat pumps. Installers can register their interest in becoming an approved installer under the Assignment of Rights here http://tiny.cc/AoR-Interest working with ASHP Asset Management and HIES.
*The Home Insulation and Energy Systems Contractors Scheme (HIES) is a consumer protection organisation covering the installation of renewable energy products. HIES Code is approved by The Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
HIES ensures that consumers are dealt with professionally, courteously and sympathetically. Any products installed by HIES members must be fit for purpose, installed professionally and come with comprehensive guarantees which are covered by specialist insurance providing consumers with a high level of protection. HIES is supported and endorsed by consumer champions Nick Ross and George Clarke.
HIES also believes that consumers should have free access to robust dispute resolution and therefore provides consumers with free mediation, free independent inspections to assist with installation or product malfunctions (at HIES’s discretion) and free access to an independent Ombudsman to help resolve any issues that may arise.
To that end, the HIES Scheme Rules and Code of Practice is a stringent set of rules that members must always adhere to in their dealings with consumers.
