Benefits To Installers

HIES is proud to announce that we have received authority from the Chartered Trading Standards Institute to operate our own Approved Consumer Code from the 21st July 2015 within the renewable industry.

With the approval of the HIES Code of Practice, installers will now only need to be a member of MCS and HIES to comply.

Installers joining HIES will have the advantage of the following benefits:

  1. HIES Code Of Practice is Chartered Trading Standards Institute(CTSI) and MCS Compliant
  2. HIES endorsed by consumer champion Nick Ross (ex BBC Watchdog and Crimewatch presenter)
  3. Standardised suites of documentation (all approved by CTSI)
  4. Deposit Protection & Insurance Backed Guarantees on every installation
  5. Annual audit (and advice) to ensure continued high standards
  6. Help and advice with compliance and legislative issues
  7. Full Dispute Resolution Service including Mediation, Independent Inspections and Ombudsman
  8. Quarterly “catch up” meetings to review performance, share industry experience, and identify any areas concerning you, that we may be able to assist with
  9. Regular training for members management, operational and sales staff
  10. The ability for Consumers to search for an approved member in their area

The HIES Installer brochure details what benefits members receive when joining the Scheme. HIES can provide underwritten warranties for all of the 45 Green Deal Measures, and accredited installers will receive access to the most comprehensive point of sale material in the industry.
