On the 14th March 2013, The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) released its first report containing statistics to measure the success of the Green Deal so far.

According to the report, since the launch in January, the number of Green Deal Assessors and Advisors has been growing steadily and the current figures show approximately 77 assessor organisations and 619 individual assessors registered across the UK. In addition to this there are now 40 Accredited Green Deal Providers and 629 Green Deal Installer organisations.

The report published by DECC also highlights that after an initial take up in January of only 74 assessments, at the end of February over 1800 Green Deal Assessments had been lodged and a total £26.9 million worth of contracts had been let through the ECO brokerage system.

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) focuses on providing energy efficient measures to low income and vulnerable consumers, and those living in ‘hard-to-treat’ properties. Following a Green Deal Assessment and in addition to Green Deal Finance, ECO funding could be available depending on the measures being installed.
